HAILEY's Law finally a MO law

US.Watch is proud to announce the signing of Hailey's Law, a significant step forward in the fight to protect missing children. This law, named in honor of 10-year-old Hailey Owens who was tragically abducted and murdered in 2014, mandates crucial upgrades to the Amber Alert system.

US.Watch is proud to announce the signing of Hailey's Law, a significant step forward in the fight to protect missing children. This law, named in honor of 10-year-old Hailey Owens who was tragically abducted and murdered in 2014, mandates crucial upgrades to the Amber Alert system.

We are deeply grateful to Hailey's father, Markus Owens, for his tireless advocacy and collaboration with lawmakers to bring this legislation to fruition. We also acknowledge the remarkable partnership between Markus Owens and Jim Wood, the father of Hailey's killer, who together championed this cause. Their shared commitment to improving child safety in Missouri is a testament to the power of healing and unity.  

Hailey's Law is a crucial step toward fulfilling our mission at US.Watch. By mandating upgrades to law enforcement procedures and requiring regular oversight, this law helps ensure that Amber Alerts are issued swiftly and effectively. The provision allowing for more detailed information and calls to action in alerts directly supports our goal of empowering communities to take action and assist in the search for missing children.
